Support from a California Broker

I fully support what you and your organization are trying to accomplish. As a Real Estate Broker and investor in California, it continually amazes me that many Realtors in Baja adhere to unethical standards. They just don't seem to realize that this short term way of doing things (to make a quick commission) just backfires, and hurts them in the long run. If a Baja Realtor had the vision to understand that fair and ethical trade practices will actually INCREASE their income in the long run, I think they would all jump at the chance to join your organization. Please keep up the good work!

I too applaude your efforts. Unfortunately, the associations that you once tried to partner with have little interest in "cleaning up house". Many of the developments that are being "pre-sold" before construction look good on paper but will never get built. But that doesn't seem to matter to AMPI as long as said "projects" are paying commissions. I put down 30% in one of the developments supposedly being built by the head of the developers association, Gabriel Robles, and for the past year they haven't done anything but take more deposits. For some reason they won't answer my calls anymore. Funny how they did when I was interested in giving them money to line their own pockets.

I wish I had some organization that I could trust who could have given me the truth about the development.

Baja Fair Trade notifies all buyers of the risks involved in pre-construction investments including the cash down model. In the current market conditions, it is especially advisable to use full escrow of funds until closing before a Notario Publico.
